कार्तिक दंडपानी रणनीति क्षेत्र में प्रोफेसर हैं। उन्होंने दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय के हंसराज कॉलेज से वाणिज्य में स्नातक तथा भारतीय प्रबंधन संस्थान, अहमदाबाद (प्रबंधन में फेलो प्रोग्राम) से अर्थशास्त्र में डॉक्टरेट की उपाधि प्राप्त की है। वे भारतीय कंपनी सचिव संस्थान के एसोसिएट सदस्य भी हैं।

इससे पहले वे भारतीय प्रबंधन संस्थान, अहमदाबाद में अध्यापन कार्य कर चुके हैं। शिक्षा जगत में आने से पूर्व, उन्होंने दुनिया के सबसे बड़े म्यूचुअल फंड और वित्तीय सेवा समूहों में से एक, फिडेलिटी में एनालिटिक्स और बिज़नेस इंटेलिजेंस के क्षेत्र में कार्य किया था।

वे रणनीतिक निर्णयों को तैयार करने और प्रभावी ढंग से संप्रेषित करने के लिए एनालिटिक्स और विज़ुअलाइज़ेशन के उभरते क्षेत्र को एकीकृत करते हैं। कक्षा में जटिल अवधारणाओं और रूपरेखाओं को समझाने के लिए वे प्रौद्योगिकी-मिश्रित शिक्षण, सिमुलेशन तथा अनुभवात्मक अभ्यासों का उपयोग करते हैं।

उनके शोध के प्रमुख क्षेत्र विविधीकरण, अंतर्राष्ट्रीयकरण, संस्थागत परिवर्तन, व्यावसायिक समूह और क्लस्टर हैं। वे नवीन सैद्धांतिक योगदान देने के लिए बड़े डेटा स्रोतों का उपयोग करते हैं। उन्होंने एकेडमी ऑफ मैनेजमेंट, एकेडमी ऑफ इंटरनेशनल बिजनेस और स्ट्रैटेजिक मैनेजमेंट सोसाइटी जैसी प्रतिष्ठित संस्थाओं द्वारा आयोजित अंतर्राष्ट्रीय सम्मेलनों में अपने शोध प्रस्तुत किए हैं। उनके शोधपत्र इंडस्ट्री एंड इनोवेशन, इंटरनेशनल जर्नल ऑफ इमर्जिंग मार्केट्स जैसी प्रमुख अंतर्राष्ट्रीय पत्रिकाओं तथा ऑक्सफोर्ड यूनिवर्सिटी प्रेस द्वारा प्रकाशित एक संपादित खंड में प्रकाशित हुए हैं।
