MBA ADMISSION POLICY: PGPM 2024-26 BATCH

IIM Tiruchirappalli reserves the right to modify any part of this policy, including the selection criteria and cut-offs mentioned, at any time.

The IIMs participating in the CAP have decided to adopt a common admission process (CAP 2024 process) of PI to be coordinated this year by IIM Kashipur. The scores obtained by the candidate in PI of CAP 2024 would be considered for preparing the merit list. The exact date for PI will be communicated by the IIM Kashipur, coordinating Institute for CAP 2024-26 batch, on behalf of all participating IIMs.

A. CRITERIA FOR SHORTLISTING CANDIDATES FOR PERSONAL INTERVIEW (PI):

IIM Tiruchirappalli will use the CAT percentile to shortlist candidates for PI. The table below indicates the minimum performance expected from candidates to be shortlisted for the PI.

B. CRITERIA FOR THE FINAL ADMISSIONS

The following parameters and the corresponding weights will be used to arrive at the composite scores of the candidates to prepare the final merit list for admissions:

Please note that the sub-parameters used under each head are also mentioned below:

1. CAT Percentile: 50 percent weightage.

2. Personal Interview: 25 percent weightage

Based on the normalized PI scores, the lowest 20% of the candidates in each category will not be considered for admission to the PGPM 2024-26 batch.

3. Work experience: 10 percent weightage

The following will be the basis for the allocation of marks:

* Only full-time remunerative work experience after graduation and completed months till 31st January 2024 will be considered subject to the candidate updating the latest details in the CAP-2024 application process. Part-time/project/internship/article-ship/pre-graduation work experience, etc., will not be counted as work experience.

A valid proof with a date of appointment, date of relieving, and work experience certificate will be mandatory at the time of registration for the program.

4. Normalized Score in 10th Standard: 2 percent weightage

5. Normalized Score in 12th Standard: 3 percent weightage

6. Performance at Undergraduate level: 5 percent weightage.

The above performance shall be measured by multiplying the percentage marks scored by the weightage applicable to the discipline, as shown below.

5(five) percent of the score so obtained shall be considered in the overall evaluation. [UG performance score = (per cent score at UG * discipline weightage) * 0.05]

To encourage diversity in the batch, differential weightage, as shown below, shall be applied to different disciplines:

  • Engineering / Technology: 0.7
  • Arts / Science (including Pharmacy) / Commerce / Economics / Management / other disciplines: 1.0

7. Gender Diversity: 5 percent weightage for female candidates

IIM Tiruchirappalli follows reservation policy as per Government of India norms and as notified in the CAT 2023 advertisement Eligibility and Information Bulletin.
