BRIEF PROFILE

I am a doctoral candidate in the Operations Management and Quantitative Techniques (OM&QT) area at Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirappalli (IIMT). My doctoral thesis explores Integrated Management Systems (IMS) implementation in Indian SMEs. I hope to contribute to the theory and practice of integrating management systems in order to achieve higher efficiency in SMEs.

I was awarded the commendable research paper award for my thesis proposal at the doctoral colloquium of the 11th ISDSI International Conference. Apart from my thesis, I work in the area of sustainable operations management, services operations management, behavioral operations and quality management.

I have published research articles and book chapters in various International Journals and books such as Benchmarking: an International Journal, Total Quality Management & Business Excellence Journal and International Journal of Lean Six Sigma. Some of my papers are under review in international journals such as Journal of Operations Management and Service Marketing Quarterly. I have presented my research work at various International Conferences such as Society of Operations Management (SOM) conference, Production and Operations Management (POMS) conference, European Operations Management Association (EurOMA) conference and Indian Subcontinent Decision Sciences Institute (ISDSI) conference.

 

RESEARCH INTEREST/STRENGTHS

  •  Quality Management: Implementation and management of quality practices and certifications, especially in service industry and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs)
  • Behavioral Operations Management in services with a focus on retail sector
  • Empirical research methods, especially survey research, evidence based literature reviews, experimental designs with expertise in AMOS, SPSS, Minitab and Stata software

Served as a teaching assistant at IIM Tiruchirappalli in the Operations Management and Quantitative Techniques area. Responsibility as a teaching assistant involved grading assignments, case studies, projects and exams and setting up the question paper with professor.

Took classes for PGDM students during “Quality Toolkit for Managers” course and for FPM students during “Academic Writing” course at IIM Tiruchirappalli. Also, served as Tutor at IIM Tiruchirappalli for “Operations Management” and “Quantitative Methods II” courses. Pedagogy involved lectures with visual aids, case studies, hands on excel sheets and projects and assignments.
