Cash Holdings in Indian Corporations

Synopsis: In my dissertation, I explore the reasons behind the increasing corporate cash hoarding in Indian corporate sector, beginning 1996 till now. Owing to the emerging market economy and unique capital structures of the firm, I try to understand which firms tend to hold more cash and how does the Indian Corporate Sector utilise the cash holdings. Further, I try to understand the effect of corporate governance mechanisms and firm ownership on cash holdings.
