Brief Profile

I am a first year doctoral student in Operations Management and Decision Sciences Area at the Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirappalli. With over 25 years of experience in the IT industry, I draw my research interests towards the area of program and project management. Using Artificial Intelligence (mainly Machine Learning), I would like to establish patterns that can be developed into a framework for industry to use for successful programs. In particular, I am interested in factors that influence successful programs and provide the returns for the investment – whilst considering the technological changes in the industry with Digital revolution and transformation programs in IT sector. These factors would help in building a framework on what initiatives (programs) qualify for investments, what factors would influence programs (across the life cycle) becoming successful and how this would be relevant to the industry at large. 

Though the topic of my thesis work is not yet finalized, I intend to focus on Program Management as a broader topic.

Research Interests

Studies done world-wide indicate that large project or programs often cost more than planned and do not give the desired benefits. Very little is dwelled on Program Management at depth and in the evolving changing technology and business scenario. A research which involves not just the procedures but also the practical aspects of how companies can utilize a framework which provides recipe for program success would be unique.
