Rajesh is presently working as an Assistant Professor in the area of OM & DS in IIM Trichy. Prior to joining this, he was working as an Assistant Professor at ABV-IIITM Gwalior. He completed a Post-Doctoral Fellowship (PDF) in Operations Management from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT-M) and completed a Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST (ISRO)), Trivandrum. He is presently working in the areas of supply chain management, risk management, resilience, sustainability, decision-making, uncertainty modeling, and grey theory. As of now, he has an h-index of 23 (Google Scholar) and over 2300+ citations (Google Scholar).

- Senior Associate Editor, Marketing Intelligence & Planning, Emerald (ABDC A; Impact Factor 4.33; CiteScore 7.1)
- Proposed the new causal modelling techniques, the Grey Influence Analysis (GINA) and the Grey Causal Modelling (GCM)
- Recognized as among the top 5 researchers in the world in the area of supply chain resilience (Sources: Web of Science (Rank 3); Scopus (Rank 5)).
- Listed in the world's top 2% of scientists by the Stanford University-Elsevier list (2022), the single recent year with a world ranking of 232 in the subject field, "Artificial Intelligence".
- Listed in the world's top 2% of scientists by the Stanford University-Elsevier list (2021), with a world ranking of 98 in the subject field, "Operations Research".
