Dr. Saini Das is an Associate Professor in the Information Systems and Analytics Area at Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirapalli. She holds a doctoral degree from the Indian Institute of Management Lucknow. She has over a decade of experience in management teaching, training and research at reputed Institutes such as  Indian Institute of Management Indore and Vinod Gupta School of Management IIT Kharagpur prior to joining Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirapalli.
 
Her research philosophy is primarily aimed at addressing social, ethical and security issues that plague the digital world manifested by the existence of digital businesses and large-scale digital transformation of companies specifically belonging to the healthcare and e-commerce sectors. More specifically, she looks into information security issues faced by organizations such as cyber security breaches and attempt to quantify their risk so that they can be mitigated through risk management strategies such as risk avoidance or risk transfer (cyber insurance). At the same time, her research also attempts to address privacy issues that arise due to improper handling of sensitive customer data by companies operating and thriving in the digital world. Another stream of her research is oriented towards identifying the barriers and enablers of emerging technologies specifically in the domain of healthcare such as AI based diagnostic tools, AI based mental health apps, FemTech applications targeted at female reproductive health, digital contact tracing apps, etc.
 
Her research has been published reputed peer-reviewed international journals such as Information & Management, Decision Support Systems, Information System Frontiers, etc.
