Nimmi P. M. is an
Assistant Professor of Human Resource Management and Organizational Behaviour
at the Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirappalli, India. Before joining IIM Tiruchirappalli, she
served as an Assistant Professor (Senior Grade) at the Amrita School of
Business, Coimbatore, where she was also a member of the Research and PhD
committees. She was nominated by Amrita
School of Business for the All India Management Association (AIMA) Young
Management Scholar Award, 2024. Her research focuses on careers, employability,
and work attitudes. She teaches students and executives (SHRM) on management
programs in Human Resource Management, Organisational Behaviour, HR Analytics,
and Career Management Practices. Her courses include Fundamentals of Human
Resource Management (core-PGP-HR), Organisation Theory and Structure
(core-PGP), Career Management Practices (Elective – PGP-HR), Human Resource
Management (core-PGP). She has developed case studies to help students
understand management concepts, which have been published in reputed case
outlets such as Sage Business Cases. She teaches in doctoral programs, offering sessions on research methodology, careers, and career management practices.
An enthusiastic scholar in career sustainability, she
currently co-edits two special issues in Career Development International and
Education & Training. Her article on the evolving career attitudes of
Indian Millennials was featured on the London School of Economics Blog (2023).
She was selected by the Academy of Management (AOM) Careers Division for the
Research Incubator Program for PhD scholars and early-career researchers. Nimmi
has served as an Associate Editor for Higher Education, Skills and Work-Based
Learning (Emerald) and is a member of the Editorial Boards of Career
Development International (Emerald) and the Journal of Teaching and Learning
for Graduate Employability (Deakin University).
She had facilitated management development programs
for officers of Bharat Electronics Limited, the Rural Development Department of
the Government of Tamil Nadu, and served as a resource person for the DST
program on Social Impact for Social Responsibility. She holds a PhD in Human
Resource Management (Career Management) from Cochin University of Science and
Technology.
