Dr. Varun Mahajan is currently working as an Assistant Professor Grade I in the Economics & Public Policy area at IIM Trichy. He holds a Ph.D. degree in Economics from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee, India. Prior to joining IIM Trichy, he was working as an Assistant Professor at IBS Hyderabad. He received M.Sc.(Hons.) in Economics degree with distinction from Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. He was awarded a Junior Research Fellowship by the UGC for Ph.D. He has around 12 years of experience in research and teaching. His areas of teaching interest include Microeconomics, Game Theory, Industrial and Managerial Economics, etc. His research areas are Industrial Economics, Data Envelopment Analysis, Efficiency, Productivity, Indian Pharmaceutical Industry and Applied Econometrics, etc. He has five years of full-time research experience as a Research Scholar from the Department of HSS of IIT Roorkee. He has published a number of research papers in refereed national and international Journals indexed in ABDC, Scopus and Web of Science. Besides, he has presented several papers in international and national-level conferences and acted as a reviewer for several reputed journals.
