Dr. M. Vimala Rani is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the area of Operations management & Decision Sciences at IIM Tiruchirappalli. Her prior academic experience includes serving as an Assistant Professor at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur for nearly six years, and Amrita School of Business, Bangalore for approximately one year.
She obtained her Ph.D. degree in Operations Management from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore. She has received a Gold medal and the Best Ph.D. thesis award from the council of IISc. After her Ph.D., she worked as IISc Research Associate at the Department of Management Studies, IISc. She also received her M.E (Software Engineering) from Anna University, Chennai, and her B.E (CSE) from Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai.
Her research articles have been recognized in the international conferences. Notably, Highly Commended Paper award by Emerald, Best Research Paper award, and two of her scholars have secured the 2nd place in the Doctoral Dissertation Competition category at the 15th Annual International Conference on IEOM (Singapore), and 10th North American Conference on IEOM (Orlando, Florida, USA).
